Boyfriend - I'll Be There

Eotteoke?
I can't stop watching this MV.

At first, the song didn't amuse me that much. But the more I listen to it, the more it grows on me. I get addicted to it.
In the MV, Donghyun is so squeezable (means: I want to squeeze him real tight!). I really like his move right after he sings "bandeushi". I don't know why. Hahaha..
And Hyunseong.. Oh, somehow he looks sooo manly.
Aaack! Everyone is just so handsome! (*,*)

Wait. Am I a BestFriend now?

Merry Xmas 2011

Today...

Some people are singing, "Santa Claus is coming to town".
But, they may forget to welcome Jesus.

Some people are cleaning their house and church.
But, they may forget to clean their heart and soul.

Some people are buying new clothes to show off.
But, they may forget to renew their faith.

Some people are busy decorating their tree.
But, they may forget to fix their misbehavior.

Lord, please shed us some light...
to feel the true spirit of Your birthday,
to let You stay in our hearts,
to live each day according to Your words.

* MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE *
...GOD BLESS US...

It's christmas cake that we got yesterday
So many blessings God gave us through others
May we be blessings for others too

Cinnamon, Bukan Bistro

We just went to a cafe near our boarding house. It's just around the corner, Jl. Cempaka No. 32 Yogyakarta.

The menu offers wide variety of cuisines, really. You can find Thai food (e.g. tom yam), Italian food (e.g. pizza, spaghetti, calamari, carbonara), and even Indonesian food. You can choose to have appetizer and dessert too. There are snacks, pancake, ice cream, salad, and many kinds of beverage.

Gatotkaca-ku..
Apa kabar? Udah makan belum? Makan dulu gih, biar kuat baca surat ini.

Gatotkaca-ku..

Pondok Makan Pelem Golek

Last week my father was invited by the owner of Pelem Golek, Mr. Agus, due to a business plan of expanding his family restaurant to teenager-segmented-restaurant. Pelem Golek is a huge restaurant with a natural concept. There's even a waterfall from a river in the backyard. We should walk down a stony path to get there. It reminded me of Tawangmangu.

Pelem Golek is decorated with Javanese ornament and there is a complimentary testimony from Butet Kartaradjasa that is carved in a big wooden board. It is entitled "Proklamakan". The parking area is quite wide and the capacity of the restaurant is up to 3000 people. It's located on Jl. Palagan Tentara Pelajar Km. 7 No. 99 Yogyakarta, in front of Hyatt Hotel.

Mr. Agus treated us free meal that he chose by himself. So, it might be their highly recommended menu. They are: Sup Seafood Tofu Jepang (60 K), Gurame Saus Mangga (8.5 K/oz.), kepiting goreng tepung, & ca kangkung.
*sorry, we can't give the exact name and price for some foods because we didn't get a chance to examine the menu (^_^)v

My New Passion

Hahaha.

Hehehe.  (^_^)v
Sumpe ya... tu orang kalo berpropaganda bikin saya langsung manggut-manggut mupeng & segera melakukan seperti yang dia katakan. Mungkin dia punya prospek cemerlang di bidang advertising. ^_^

Kareshi adalah pecinta makhluk hidup. I mean it, he loves and understands any kinds of plants & animals.

Hohoho.. I'm so proud of myself. Why? Because I bought one of the books Seohyun gave to Yonghwa, "Letters to Sam", and I've finished reading it.
I bought the Indonesian edition, though. So I'm kind of confused on how to tell you about it in English. Please correct me if I made any mistake in translating or quoting the book.

Phuket

Phuket is a group of Thai restaurants in Yogyakarta. You can find them on Jl. Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo, Jl. HOS Cokroaminoto, and in northern ringroad. That's as far as I know.
We went to the one located on Jl. Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo, in front of Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana. The restaurant is not so big. It's semi-open. We could feel a simple Thai atmosphere here in Phuket, mostly because there are photographs of Bumibol Abdulyadej and some other Thai symbols.  (^_^)

Almost all of the foods are delicious, very tongue-friendly. Maybe it's because of the same characteristic in most of Southeast Asian cuisines: a bunch of spices! For those who don't like spicy food, don't worry, you can easily figure out how spicy the food you're about to order just by looking at the menu. The more chili drawn beside the  name of the food, the more spicy it will be.

Sangam House

Sangam House is an Indian boutique and restaurant located on Pandega Siwi 14 (when you find a narrow pathway near gas station on Jl. Kaliurang Km 5.6, it's there).

The front side of the house serves as a gallery. It displays many kinds of Indian souvenirs and handyrafts, such as slippers, bracelets, cloth, etc. But, we were more interested by what's offered behind that gallery: Indian food! As we can guess, Indians love spicy food. So, most of the foods are smeared by fat. Some of them are very similar to Indonesian foods, such as opor, kare, or rendang. Well, maybe a little thicker in seasoning.

Men of My Life

I was watching "Knight and Day" with my younger brother in the living room. Near the end of the movie, my dad walked in and joined us. It was a scene where Tom Cruise was running around.

Dad : "What is it? 007? Is that Pierce Brosnan?"
Me : (shocked) "No! He's Tom Cruise."
Dad : "Oh yea... Now that he stopped running, I can see that he's not Brosnan. Well, I can't tell the difference between Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt."
Me : (even more shocked) "Dad, even their hair colors are different." (then went on to explain the difference)
Dad : "This Tom Cruise is the one with Angelina Jolie?"
Me : "That's Brad Pitt."
Dad : "Jennifer Aniston?"
Me : "That was Brad Pitt, too."
Dad : "So, who is Tom Cruise's wife?"

Nanamia Pizzeria

We can find many kinds of pizza here. They serve pizza like the true Italian. All this time, the popular franchised pizza restaurant - with initials P.I.Z.Z.A.H.U.T - make us eat thick bread with various topping and crust. But, Nanamia offers you crispy thin bread with thick layered topping. The price is cheaper than Pizza Hut though. I guess Nanamia has been people's sweetheart here in Yogyakarta, especially for those who love Italian food. The menu is not merely pizza. We can also take lasagna, pasta, or dessert menu like salad, mousse, tiramisu, etc.

Pasta Gio

Pasta Gio is an Italian restaurant located in remote area. Even our father, who knows Jogja like the palm of his hand, had difficulties finding the place. Nevertheless, it seems like the restaurant is never running out of customers. I don't know how they could promote it so well.

So, here is the hint. If you start from Jl. Palagan, find T-intersection that leads to Jimbaran Restaurant, go straight until you find intersection, then turn right. When you see "Kumala Hadi" accountant office, then it's time for you to slow down your vehicle. On the left side of the street, you'll meet an alley with red paper lantern (if it's not removed). After you enter the alley, you'll find Pasta Gio right away.

Dae Jang Geum Restaurant

The first time we came to this Korean restaurant was with our family. We picked the tatami room instead of the hall and gazebo. The price is ranged from 10K - 250K rupiah. The most expensive meal goes to... ogolgyetang (ayam cemani ginseng). As easily guessed, we didn't take it. I forgot what exactly we ate back then. I could only recall kimchi that is free served, tteokpokki (spicy rice cake), doenjang jjigae (bean paste pot stew), katsu, noodle and this food that tastes like toe. Maybe that's why my brain tried so hard to forget it. (^_^)v

We're so sad that we can't enjoy Korean food. How are we supposed to live in the country of uri nampyeon?? (T___T)

Silla Korean-Chinese Restaurant

It's located in northern ring road, next to Happy Puppy. We came here once in a while, mainly on special occasions. Well, we don't do it daily simply because it may rip off our pocket, for heaven's sake! (-_-);
It offers a great number of foreign cuisine from Japan, Korea, and China with a cozy interior. The price ranges from 25 K up to 200s K.

Customers are able to choose whether they want to eat inside or outside tatami. The first time we went to Silla, there is this big tree in the middle of the room that looks really nice. But when we came for the second time, it disappears... I'm not sure why. Maybe some random carpenters passed by and cut down the tree.

About the menu? Hmm... tough question! You may be distracted by so many foreign names listed on the menu. But don't be confused, my friend... you can always ask the waitress before you make your order (you don't want to bet on the wrong food right?). Douzo... dipileh... dipileeh... (^_-)

Honestly, aSaGaYa is not as cheap as Nagoya and Sapporo. Still affordable though. The average price is 18K.

There hasn't been so much to tell about aSaGaYa for I just ate here once with kareshi. The menu is not as complete as the other restaurant yet, maybe because of newcomer-thing.

Sapporo Ramen

Y-fam Eating Ramen

For me, Sapporo Ramen is a highly recommended place to eat. It's so natural for me and kareshi to go there when we feel like eating something nice and cheap. The price are set mostly in 10K or a little more. It fits perfectly with consumer's principle, doesn't it? Haha.

Located on Jl. Kaliurang km 11 next to WS convenient store, Sapporo Ramen offers a simple atmosphere to enjoy our meal. Unlike the other Japanese restaurants we've ever been, the waiters don't yell "irasshaimase" to welcome the customers. Maybe some people mistook it as warung mie ayam.

Nagoya Japanese Fusion Resto

For culinary lovers, we would like to share about some restaurants in Yogyakarta. Actually we can't claim ourselves the real taste-adventurers yet. We don't pick random restaurants to satisfy our hunger... Hellouuuw, we are not some promiscuous women don't grow money on tree.

But, we hope this information will be useful to those who haven't tried and have a will to try various taste. We try to avoid discussing popular franchised restaurants here, such as Hoka Hoka Bento, Pizza Hut, and stuffs. Those restaurants are already well known, even to the Granny's Generation (an extended version of Girls Generation).

Without further ado, let's just get to the point. The first restaurant we'd like to talk about is Nagoya Japanese Fusion Resto

When you're lucky, sometimes you can meet the owner, Mr. David Cahayanto (although it won't make any difference for your bill... ehehehe). We like to eat here because it offers various kinds of menu with reasonable price (10K - 20K). Our definite order are takoyaki and furaimaki sushi.

I was recruited as assistant there with someone who happens to be my close friend. Our duty basically consists of processes to turn any incoming articles into a journal or bulletin. FYI, journal is based on research, while bulletin may contain opinions or insights from its writers. Each article should be reviewed and approved by professional experts that we call mitra bestari. It consists of doctors and professors inside and outside Faculty of Psychology Gadjah Mada University.

Then, you feel like you win the "competition".

But is it true?
Are they really ugly inside? And are you really pretty inside?

*self justification, because most of my biases are younger than me*

So I permit Onew to court Jung Ah. Why Onew? Simply because he chose Jung Ah as his ideal type. I mean, a girl has to date a guy who adores her, right?

For choosing Jung Ah, Onew received many praises, including from me. Haha.. Yea, I must admire him. When he's in the same company with SNSD, when After School has other gorgeous members, when every man in the planet picks Yoona as their ideal type, why he chooses Jung Ah? (okay, Onew had picked Yoona before, but only Yoona-in-makeup-CF).

Onew's eyes are only for Jung Ah?

A Match for Sunye

Have you ever heard of SunHae? Yes, I ship Sunye-Donghae too. They have quite an interesting tale.

They met for the first time at Super Junior's radio show, Sukira on May 7, 2007. Eunhyuk and Donghae were the DJs that day. Their guests happened to be Sunye and Sohee. I guess Donghae already liked Sunye at that time cause he looked shy, nervous, and happy at the same time. It wasn't a smooth meeting, though. There's an incident that made Donghae felt so guilty towards Sunye.

3 years later, they met again on a variety show called Come To Play (May 26, 2010). Throughout the show, Donghae worked so hard to capture Sunye's heart that you can't help but want them to end up together. Apparently, Sunye was moved too. She eventually "liked" him back. Yesss!! *happy audience* To celebrate their becoming "couple", the show gave them couple rings.

You see..
I have girl crushes on Seohyun, Sunye, Jung Ah, and Jia. And I can't let them go to just any man.
So I made a list of men I approve to be with them.

Well.. let's start with Seohyun.
Guess who I choose for her? Guess who! Is it that obvious?
Yeaaa.. You don't expect me to call any other name than Yonghwa, do you? Haha.. Because IT IS Yonghwa, the only man for Seohyun.

Why? You ask why? Because he's a true Seomate. He monitors her, and he keeps naming her as his ideal type (even after their so-called "divorce"). Okay, those also apply to Jinwoon. But then, Yonghwa writes songs for her. At least 2 songs he has admitted to be written while thinking of Seohyun: "Love Light" and "For First-Time Lovers" (Banmal Song). But hey, "I Don't Know Why", "Imagine", and "Because I Miss You" are suspicious too! *delusions*

The Girls I Fangirl (Part 2)

3. After School's Jung Ah
I'm new to this fandom. So I'm still trying to digest the limited information I've got. Please bear with me.
I start liking Jung Ah as I get addicted to her song, "You're Cute" (OST Pasta). I do remember I've read good articles about her. One of them said that After School's Raina is jealous of Jung Ah's personality. Now that I'm attracted to her, I dig the internet to find more information about Jung Ah.

Kahi (the leader) and Jung Ah are the two oldest member of After School. I always have the impression that Kahi is the "tough" type, while Jung Ah is the "gentle" type. Apparently it's true. I figured out that Kahi is the "appa" (dad) of After School and Jung Ah is the "eomma" (mom). Kahi is the person you respect, and Jung Ah is the one you play with. I may be wrong, but I think After School members are closer to Jung Ah than they are to Kahi.

The Girls I Fangirl (Part 1)

My activities during this holiday basically consist of eating, sleeping, and fangirling.
Now I insist to inform you about the girls I fangirl. I will divide them into 2 posts. I'm worried if I write them all in 1 post, it will be too long for a post. You know I can't stop talking about things I love.

1. SNSD's Seohyun
Seohyun is a goddess. She is pretty, smart, innocent. A good singer (one of the lead vocalists in SNSD) and a good dancer (give her any kind of dance move. she will be able to do it, gracefully). Oh, she plays piano as well. Like MC Miseon said it, "Isn't that the image of a girl we've been dreaming of?"

Seohyun is hot, and she doesn't even know it.

Don't get me wrong. I don't hate Joo. She seems like a sweet girl. And the MV is just innocently cute. But that's exactly what makes me jealous. I adore innocently cute couple (remember YongSeo?). So it's hard to see my favorite oppa being one with another woman.

And ta da...! I've found a "Boyfriend".

Java & Korea part 2

Hi. It's been a while.
I'm here to deliver the long-awaited (?) post about the other similarities between Java & Korea.

3. Mas-Mbak & Hyung/Oppa-Noona/Unnie
I always find it adorable how Koreans address older people by such "titles". You know how cute they can be when they abuse those titles (with all that hyung/unnie-whoring keke).
Here in Java, we do that too (without the whoring part, sadly). Even when there's only 1-year gap (in my case, it's 5-minute gap), we still call older men "Mas" and older women "Mbak". Unlike in Korea, the speaker doesn't make any difference. So, basically, "Mas" equals "Hyung" and "Oppa", while "Mbak" equals "Noona" and "Unnie".
For some, "Mas" is almost as special as "Oppa" (heard that Korean men love being called "Oppa"). My mom calls my dad "Mas". Some of my friends, too, call their boyfriends "Mas". However, some people, especially in big cities, try to 'degrade' the term. They say, "Mas" is only for tukang bakso. Nooo!! Give me back the word "Mas". I'll cherish it the same way I do to "Oppa".

Java & Korea part 1

Javanese are an ethnic group native to the Indonesian island of Java. And I happen to be one of them.
As you must've known by now, I'm also into K-thing.
So I'm a bit surprised. The more I watch Korean shows, I find that I (as a Javanese) can relate to them quite well.
Java and Korea have lots of things in common.

1. Bow
Korean people bow a lot, don't they? Well, Javanese do that too. I never noticed it before -- maybe because it's already a habit. But one day, after swarming myself with Korean shows, I went to celebrate Xmas in my neighborhood. There, I saw people doing exactly the same as what I watched on screen earlier. My mom said hi to someone, and they bowed to each other.
Days later, I caught myself bowing to an elder at a bakery shop. She just greeted my mom, but I don't know her. I thought to myself, "Oh, I do that too." And then, here's the shocking part.. she bowed back at me. Wow! I didn't expect that.

Baker King : Kim Tak Goo

So, it's holiday....!!
I already have a long to-do-list for this three-week holiday. Most of them have something to do with some pushed-aside dramas that I had no chance watching during effective days. Ah, I will be so busy then. You can leave message on my door if I'm too busy to meet you.
*chuckling*

Near the end of this semester, my twinnie and I downloaded a series of Korean drama called
Baker King: Kim Tak Goo. It is also known as King of Baking or Bread, Love, and Dream.

Well, it's not the title that draw our hearts to the drama. We're not some bakery-product addict. So, why would we devote many hours of our hectic morning to collect all the episodes? It's rather because of the impressive reputation of
Baker King. Regarded as national drama that reached almost 50% of viewer rating each time it aired, Baker King easily defeated My Girlfriend Is A Gumiho. It surprised me how a drama starring national boyfriend, Lee Seunggi, can be less popular than a cooking show? That's why I decided to watch it.
