In Time With You

We started this drama because of Donnapie. She loves the drama to bits. She put it in the 5-star category of her T-Drama ranking, and Li Da Ren - Cheng You Qing (the main characters of the drama) become one of her favorite OTPs. Donna's followers also seem to enjoy the recommended drama. It's a high-quality drama, after all, as it won big at Golden Bell Awards.
That's why we feel a little bit guilty when we don't enjoy it as much as they do. Hence, the long stretch of time we need to finish the drama.

We don't find the female lead of the drama, Cheng You Qing, likeable. She throws tantrum all the time. We don't know how people stand her. But we love her mother. She reminds us of our own adorable mother.
And the OTP... We don't feel butterflies in our stomach while watching them. You know how Unin loves first meeting. So, the fact that the couple started out as best friends doesn't excite her much. Their story is kind of boring and repetitive too. All they do is talk, and about Ding Li Wei (You Qing's ex-boyfriend) at that.

Utin once said that she felt like she's watching Tersanjung. The scriptwriter elongated the storyline with a bit too much coincidence. Each time Da Ren intends to confess to You Qing, there must be something going on that takes his courage away, again and again. Can a guy be more coward? Is it really just for the sake of their 'perfect friendship'? Come on. All their friends and families can see how much they fit each other, except themselves.

To tell you the truth, we find Wei - You Qing moments more exciting. Heck, even Nic - You Qing is more exciting. Ah~ those creatures are irresistible: Wei and Nic.
But if we really have to choose a couple to ship from this drama, it's none of the above. It's You Qing's mom & dad. And sometimes Da Ren's mom & sister.

Ehem. Back to the (arguably) dull OTP. We don't spazz when they're together, and we don't cry when they're sad. You know what. We cried for Maggie instead. You see, this Da Ren guy, he tried to build a relationship with Maggie, because.. well.. she's okay, just to realize how deep his love is for You Qing, so he dumped the poor girl. Cruel.
So, as expected, our favorite lines in the drama came from Maggie toYou Qing:

Do you know that i hate women like you?

You clearly have ulterior motives but under the guise of 'good friends' you think you can get away with overstepping your bounds and turn us into sacrifical lambs to illustrate how close you guys are, how much tacit understanding you have and how special.

And after that, if we get jealous or envious, it looks like we aren't generous enough. Like we're small minded, superficial, and don't respect your 'exalted' friendship enough.

What a load of crap.

Well done, girl! That's all we've been wanting to say.

We thought we were all by ourselves in hating the drama. To our surprise, ockoala is not impressed either. She put In Time With You in 'What's That I Watched?' category. You can read her review here.

Well, as Donnapie said it, "Drama preference is really a matter of personal taste since what might ring your bell might not do it for others." Maybe because we never experienced this friendzone thing, we lack emotional connection with the storyline.
However, we admit that this drama is full of great quotes. We could relate to some mature-woman problems You Qing's facing in her early 30s, though we're a decade below. Let's just consider them as knowledge deposit to welcome our middle age crisis.
